CEDAM Board Openings: Help Wanted!
There are open seats on CEDAM's Board of Directors. If you would like to run for election as a representative of your region or as an at-large representative, please email Tiffany.
About the Board
CEDAM's 18-member board of directors consists of:
- 12 CDC Representatives, two from each of the six regions of the state. Half of these seats are up for re-election each year.
- 6 At-Large Representatives, who can be from any geographic region and work in any community economic development (CED) related field. Half of these seats are up for re-election each year.
The Board meets bi-monthly, sets policy for the organization, and represents the priorities of the state's CED industry at the state level. Board members participate in one or more of CEDAM's committees (Policy, Executive, Finance, and Fundraising), which also meet bi-monthly.
What are the requirements to become a CEDAM Board Member?
In order to be eligible for election to the CEDAM Board of Directors, one must:
- be a paid (current) member of CEDAM (you can join CEDAM online); and
- be a staff person or on a board of a CDC (as defined by CEDAM's by-laws*) in order to be a regional representative. At-large representatives can be any type of member.
What are the responsibilities of CEDAM Board Members?
CEDAM Board Members are required:
- to participate actively at bi-monthly meetings (preferably in person) and on at least one committee;
- to represent the issues and concerns of your region/community at the board level;
- to set policy and program parameters for CEDAM; and
- to assist in fund development.
How do I run?
Elections will be held this spring for all regions and three at-large seats, so any current CEDAM member is eligible to run. If you are interested, you will need to submit a photo of yourself, a brief biography, and a statement explaining why you would make a great CEDAM board member. We encourage you to campaign to other CEDAM members!
